These Terms and Conditions set out the basis on which Canary Wharf Carpet Cleaning provides professional cleaning services to residential and commercial customers. By making a booking or allowing our operatives to commence work, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully before placing a booking.
1. Definitions
In these Terms and Conditions, the following expressions have the meanings set out below:
Customer means any individual, company or organisation booking or receiving services from Canary Wharf Carpet Cleaning.
Services means any carpet, rug, upholstery, hard floor or related cleaning service provided by Canary Wharf Carpet Cleaning, together with any additional services agreed between the parties.
Premises means the location where the Services are to be performed.
Operative means any employee, contractor or representative engaged by Canary Wharf Carpet Cleaning to carry out the Services.
Agreement means the contract formed between the Customer and Canary Wharf Carpet Cleaning in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.
2. Scope of Services
2.1 Canary Wharf Carpet Cleaning provides carpet and upholstery cleaning and related services at residential and commercial premises within its service area. The precise services to be delivered, including any limitations, will be agreed at the time of booking.
2.2 Any quotations are based on the information provided by the Customer, including the type and size of areas, level of soiling, access and parking conditions. Canary Wharf Carpet Cleaning reserves the right to amend the quotation if the information provided is inaccurate or incomplete, or if additional work is requested on site.
2.3 While every reasonable effort will be made to achieve high quality cleaning results, outcomes will depend on factors such as fibre type, age and condition of carpets and fabrics, previous cleaning or treatments, and the nature and duration of stains. No guarantee is given that all stains or marks can be removed or that re-soiling will not occur.
3. Booking Process
3.1 Bookings may be made by the Customer through our online enquiry form or other communication methods offered by Canary Wharf Carpet Cleaning at the time of booking.
3.2 When making a booking, the Customer must provide accurate information regarding the Premises, the areas to be cleaned, parking availability, and any particular requirements or restrictions. Canary Wharf Carpet Cleaning is entitled to rely on the accuracy of the information provided.
3.3 A booking is only considered confirmed when Canary Wharf Carpet Cleaning has provided written or verbal confirmation, which may include the date, approximate time window, scope of Services and any applicable charges or deposits.
3.4 The Customer must ensure that an adult is present at the Premises at the agreed time to provide access, confirm the work required and sign any job sheet or confirmation of completion. If no one is present, access is not possible, or the work cannot be carried out for reasons outside our control, a call-out or cancellation charge may be applied.
4. Access, Parking and Customer Obligations
4.1 The Customer must ensure that our Operatives are provided with safe and reasonable access to the Premises, including any parking arrangements required for vehicles carrying equipment and materials.
4.2 Any parking fees or congestion charges reasonably incurred to provide the Services at the Premises may be added to the Customer’s invoice and are payable by the Customer.
4.3 The Customer should ensure that the areas to be cleaned are reasonably clear of personal items, fragile objects, and small furniture, unless alternative arrangements have been agreed. Large items of furniture may be moved only where it is practical and safe to do so, at the sole discretion of the Operatives.
4.4 The Customer must inform Canary Wharf Carpet Cleaning of any known hazards, defects, delicate materials, loose fittings, or pre-existing damage at the Premises that may affect the provision of the Services or the safety of Operatives.
5. Pricing and Payment Terms
5.1 Prices for Services will be set out in the quotation or confirmed at the time of booking. Quotations may be provided as fixed prices based on the information supplied or as estimates subject to inspection on arrival.
5.2 Unless otherwise specified, prices are quoted inclusive of labour, cleaning materials and normal use of equipment. Additional charges may apply for items or areas not originally specified or where additional work is requested by the Customer.
5.3 Canary Wharf Carpet Cleaning reserves the right to require payment of a deposit or full prepayment to confirm a booking, particularly for larger or commercial jobs, or where out-of-hours attendance is required.
5.4 Payment is due immediately upon completion of the Services, unless alternative terms have been agreed in writing in advance. Payment may be made by the methods supported by Canary Wharf Carpet Cleaning at the time of service.
5.5 For commercial customers, credit terms may be granted at the sole discretion of Canary Wharf Carpet Cleaning. Where credit terms apply, invoices are payable within the period specified on the invoice. Late payment may result in suspension of Services and the application of interest and collection costs as permitted by law.
5.6 The Customer is responsible for paying any bank charges or transaction fees arising from their chosen method of payment.
6. Cancellations, Rescheduling and Delays
6.1 The Customer may cancel or reschedule a booking by giving advance notice. Canary Wharf Carpet Cleaning requests a minimum of 24 hours notice for cancellations or rescheduling of standard residential bookings and may require longer notice for large or commercial bookings.
6.2 If adequate notice is not provided, Canary Wharf Carpet Cleaning reserves the right to charge a late cancellation fee or retain any deposit paid to cover administration and loss of allocated time.
6.3 If our Operatives are unable to gain access to the Premises at the agreed time, or if the Services cannot be carried out due to circumstances within the Customer’s control, this may be treated as a late cancellation and a charge may be applied.
6.4 While every effort is made to arrive within the agreed time window, timing is approximate and may be affected by traffic, previous jobs or circumstances beyond our reasonable control. Where significant delays are expected, Canary Wharf Carpet Cleaning will endeavour to inform the Customer and agree an alternative time where necessary.
6.5 Canary Wharf Carpet Cleaning reserves the right to cancel or reschedule a booking at any time due to reasons including but not limited to Operative illness, equipment failure, unsafe conditions at the Premises, or extreme weather. In such cases, any deposit or prepayment for the cancelled appointment will be refunded or applied to a rescheduled booking.
7. Health, Safety and Customer Responsibilities
7.1 Canary Wharf Carpet Cleaning operates in accordance with relevant health and safety requirements and takes reasonable steps to ensure that work is carried out safely at the Premises.
7.2 The Customer is responsible for ensuring that children, pets and other occupants are kept away from equipment, cables, cleaning products and wet or recently cleaned areas during and immediately after the provision of Services.
7.3 Certain cleaning processes involve moisture and may leave carpets, rugs or upholstery damp for several hours. The Customer should follow any aftercare instructions given by our Operatives, including guidance on ventilation, heating and walking on freshly cleaned surfaces.
7.4 Canary Wharf Carpet Cleaning will not be liable for accidents, slips or falls occurring as a result of failure to follow reasonable instructions or signage relating to wet floors or damp carpets.
8. Waste Handling and Environmental Regulations
8.1 Canary Wharf Carpet Cleaning complies with applicable waste and environmental regulations for the handling, storage and disposal of waste generated in the course of providing Services.
8.2 Waste water from cleaning processes will be disposed of safely and in accordance with local requirements. Where necessary, the Customer may be asked to allow the use of suitable drainage points on the Premises for lawful disposal of waste water.
8.3 Any bulk waste, removed items or materials that are not a direct by-product of the cleaning process are not included in standard Services, unless otherwise agreed. If collection and disposal of additional waste is requested, this may be subject to additional charges.
8.4 Cleaning solutions and products are selected with consideration for effectiveness and compliance with safety standards. Safety data sheets can be provided upon reasonable request for commercial customers who require them for on-site records.
9. Property Condition, Damage and Limitations of Liability
9.1 The Customer should highlight any existing damage, heavy wear, colour fading, weak seams, loose grippers or fraying edges prior to commencement of work. Canary Wharf Carpet Cleaning will not be liable for pre-existing damage or defects that become more apparent following cleaning.
9.2 While Operatives will exercise reasonable care and skill, certain risks are inherent in cleaning carpets and fabrics, including potential colour run, shrinkage, texture changes or loosening of joins, particularly where items are old, worn, poorly fitted or have been previously cleaned or treated with unknown products.
9.3 If damage is alleged to have occurred as a direct result of our Services, the Customer must notify Canary Wharf Carpet Cleaning in writing as soon as reasonably possible and in any event within 48 hours of completion of the work. The Customer must provide reasonable access and cooperation to allow inspection, investigation and, where appropriate, remedial work.
9.4 Where liability is established, Canary Wharf Carpet Cleaning may at its option arrange for repair, professional restoration, or replacement of the damaged item, or provide reasonable financial compensation limited to the lesser of the cost of repair or the current value of the item, having regard to age, condition and normal wear.
9.5 Canary Wharf Carpet Cleaning shall not be liable for any indirect or consequential losses, including loss of profit, loss of business, loss of opportunity or loss of enjoyment, arising out of or in connection with the provision of the Services.
9.6 Nothing in these Terms and Conditions shall exclude or limit liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability which cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
10. Insurance
10.1 Canary Wharf Carpet Cleaning maintains public liability and, where applicable, employers liability insurance appropriate for the nature of its business.
10.2 Evidence of insurance cover can be made available to commercial customers upon reasonable request.
11. Quality, Complaints and Service Guarantee
11.1 Canary Wharf Carpet Cleaning aims to provide a high standard of service. If the Customer is dissatisfied with any aspect of the Services, they should raise the matter with the Operative on site where possible, or contact Canary Wharf Carpet Cleaning as soon as reasonably practical after completion.
11.2 In appropriate cases, and at the discretion of Canary Wharf Carpet Cleaning, a return visit may be offered to re-clean specific areas of concern, provided the complaint relates directly to the quality of workmanship and is reported within a reasonable time after the original visit.
11.3 A re-clean or other remedy will not be offered where the issue arises from factors beyond our control, including re-soiling, new stains, failure to follow aftercare advice, or the inherent limitations of what can be achieved on certain fibres, materials or stains.
12. Customer Data and Confidentiality
12.1 Canary Wharf Carpet Cleaning will use Customer information solely for the purposes of managing bookings, providing Services, handling payments and administering the relationship with the Customer.
12.2 Reasonable steps will be taken to protect Customer data against unauthorised access or misuse. Personal data will be handled in accordance with applicable data protection legislation.
12.3 Operatives may take non-identifiable photographs of areas cleaned for internal training or record-keeping. Identifiable images of the Customer or their occupants will not be taken or used without express consent.
13. Force Majeure
13.1 Canary Wharf Carpet Cleaning shall not be in breach of this Agreement or otherwise liable for any failure or delay in performing its obligations where such failure or delay results from events, circumstances or causes beyond its reasonable control. These may include, without limitation, extreme weather, fire, flood, epidemic, public transport disruptions, civil unrest, strikes, or failure of utilities or communication systems.
14. Amendments to Terms and Conditions
14.1 Canary Wharf Carpet Cleaning reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions from time to time. The version in force at the time of the Customer’s booking will apply to that particular Agreement.
14.2 Continued use of our Services after notification of changes to these Terms and Conditions will constitute acceptance of the updated terms.
15. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
15.1 These Terms and Conditions, and any Agreement between Canary Wharf Carpet Cleaning and the Customer, shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
15.2 The courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms and Conditions or the provision of the Services.
16. General Provisions
16.1 If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is found to be invalid, illegal or unenforceable, that provision shall be deemed modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid, legal and enforceable. If such modification is not possible, the relevant provision shall be deemed deleted without affecting the validity and enforceability of the remaining provisions.
16.2 No failure or delay by Canary Wharf Carpet Cleaning in exercising any right or remedy under these Terms and Conditions shall operate as a waiver of that or any other right or remedy.
16.3 The Customer may not assign or transfer any of their rights or obligations under this Agreement without the prior written consent of Canary Wharf Carpet Cleaning. Canary Wharf Carpet Cleaning may assign or subcontract its rights or obligations where reasonably necessary for the efficient provision of the Services.
16.4 These Terms and Conditions, together with any specific details agreed in the booking confirmation or quotation, constitute the entire agreement between the parties and supersede any prior representations, communications or understandings relating to the subject matter.
